Many people fantasize but when push comes to shove, they stay at home and define travel as merely a part of their vacation. They miss seeing the world and they miss catching the trends. Building cars in Ontario? You got to be kidding.

If you have skills, especially in finance or engineering, entertainment or science, international work is not as difficult as some make it sound.
If you have itchy feet, you will get a chance to not just look at other cultures as a tourist, but become a real participant.
Consultant in Action. Copyright: aesta1
Interested in becoming an international consultant? It is not difficult as long as you are prepared to work very hard. Of course, there are many international consultants who give this work a bad reputation as they think they can just do a sloppy job in developing countries.
But if you want to establish your name as an excellent consultant, you need to start building your skills and experience. Assess your current skills and identify the gaps in both your competencies and experience.
This is the age of global collapse, not in the economic sense, but in a geographic one. Countries that existed only in fairy tales are now 10 hours away in a plane. Companies with unpronounceable names, in cities that only existed in adventure tales, have now been purchased by companies in our State or Province and are job target for the new generation.
Shifts in the centre of economic action Even more predictably, the center of economic action shifts from the capital cities of our youth to new locations that were often little more than tribal villages when we were in school.
Whatever talents we have, fetch better prices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Chengdu or Jakarta. Going global today is not a choice for young western Europeans or North Americans anymore than it continues to be a choice for Subcontinent and Philippine engineers and computer specialists.

Vision an international future Yes, with international opportunities, your future can take on a whole new meaning. You can leverage your talent and skills to work anywhere in the world and make your career like a constant eye opening vacation instead of a day by day crawling trudge to the same office, in the same city, with the same faceless people.
How does one do this? How does one get to work in those beautiful and challenging places? We will share with you how we have done this.
Start planning your International Life You, too, can do it! Stop planning a 3 week vacation and start planning a new life working in new countries with new cultures and ideas wrapped all around you. Be a part of the expanding international community that builds bridges across every continent.
Where in this world are your dreams focused? Which region? Which particular country is engaging you right now?
Volunteer in Takeo Cambodia
Maybe you are one of the lucky ones. You get a job in the city you dream of living in. Maybe some are luckier as they discover cities they never dreamt about but went where the international opportunities are and found their dream place. Sometimes you have to serve days in Nepalganj to get to work in Paris.
Stop dreaming...start digging. List the countries you are interested in. Group these countries by regions. Go to their embassies if these are close to you and get all the information you can about working there.
What do you need to know if you want to work there? How easy is it to find jobs in those cities? countries? regions? Ask them for contacts in your area of expertise. Remember, you have an expertise you can always improve. So, find out where the need is and upgrade in that area.
It really is not rocket science. It is digging for opportunities. Once you start digging, you'll be surprised at how many opportunities there are.
