You went where? Ohhh….yes, the world has indeed become global that today people go not only to the usual travel destinations but also to places not as yet explored. These places are often not accessible to tourists as there are yet no organized trips by tour operators. Or, some places have just escaped the tourist route and have still maintained their own distinct character.
Not only are there places but also interesting ceremonies that because of the time of travel to that place, many have missed. These include events, festivals, religious ceremonies or local weddings and traditional practices.
We have now become a global community interacting with each other in ways we have never dreamed of before. Places we just could not reach before are now inviting us to see them. Places we did not even know exist are now locations frequented by our friends.
More than just the travel, jobs are global, too. It is now ordinary for many to have breakfast in New York, lunch in Paris and dinner in Dubai. But we are not talking only of these jobs that require so much travel. We talk of millions upon millions leaving their families to work in other countries for years. There is so much mobility of labour.
As well, food is no longer just limited to what is grown in your area. You can have anything you want to eat even if these things can’t grow where you live. And there is no turning back. |
